The ANVEY Wellhead Bypass Tool (WHBPT) is a high‑integrity isolation system engineered to protect production trees and wellheads during high‑pressure stimulation operations. Modern stimulation techniques—acidizing, fracturing, abrasive treatments—often expose surface equipment to pressures, corrosive fluids, and erosive sand loads far beyond their design limits. WHBPT eliminates this risk by diverting all treating pressures and fluids through a 15,000‑psi rated, erosion‑resistant mandrel, ensuring the original wellhead remains completely isolated and unharmed.
The system is designed for rapid deployment, even on a live, pressurized well, without requiring a workover rig or well‑kill operation. Its inbuilt pressure equalization system allows safe insertion and retraction of the mandrel while maintaining full control of differential pressures above and below the master valve. With 120-inch stroke length, high-strength SS316 and AISI 4140 construction, and compatibility with 2⅞" to 4½" tubing, the WHBPT adapts to a wide range of completions and stimulation programs.
Supported by a diesel-driven hydraulic power pack, quick-connect hoses, and modular flange changeovers (2 9/16", 3 1/16", 4 1/16", 5 1/8", 7 1/16"), the WHBPT is built for operational flexibility, fast turnaround, and maximum protection of critical surface assets.
A safer, faster, and more economical way to protect your wellhead during stimulation.
1. Protects the production tree from extreme pressures and abrasive fluids
The WHBPT isolates the entire wellhead and production valves from stimulation pressures up to 15,000 psi, preventing erosion, corrosion, and mechanical damage.
2. No need to upgrade or replace the wellhead
High-pressure stimulation can be performed using the existing low-pressure tree, eliminating the cost and downtime of installing a high-pressure tree.
3. Works on a live well — no killing required
The tool can be installed and removed while the well is under pressure, avoiding formation damage, fluid losses, and costly kill operations.
4. Dual-barrier sealing with optional third barrier
A robust sealing architecture ensures maximum safety during stimulation, even under severe pressure and fluid conditions.
5. Rapid deployment and minimal downtime
The WHBPT can be mobilized, installed, and commissioned quickly, reducing rig-site waiting time and improving operational efficiency.
6. Inbuilt pressure equalization system
Operators can equalize pressure around the mandrel with the inside environment and prevent shocks.
7. High-strength, erosion-resistant mandrel
Manufactured from SS316 and AISI 4140, the mandrel withstands acid, sand, and high-velocity fluids without deformation or washout.
8. Wide compatibility with tubing and wellhead sizes
Supports 2⅞", 3½", and 4½" tubing, with flange changeovers for all major tree sizes, making it suitable for diverse field environments.
9. Reduces CAPEX and OPEX
By protecting the existing wellhead and eliminating the need for high-pressure tree upgrades, the WHBPT significantly lowers both capital and operational expenditures.
10. Enhances safety and operational uptime
Fewer interventions, no well-kill operations, and reduced equipment exposure translate to safer operations and higher production continuity.
